Ryanair & LBA offer free flights to students

Ryanair and Leeds Bradford Airport teamed up to offer a pair of free flights for student festival goers at Leeds’ first ever outdoor Freshers’ Festival.

2012-10-4 — /travelprnews.com/ — Leeds Freshers’ Festival was held in Leeds City Centre’s Millennium Square, on Saturday 22nd September; Voodoo Events, in partnership with Leeds Met Students’ Union and Leeds City Council, transformed the square into a festival style space, complete with freshers’ fair, giant inflatable games, chillout zone and of course – the stage.

To be in with a chance of winning, festival goers had to find branded Ryanair promotional staff, take a picture with them, and upload to Twitter tagging @lbiairport and @LdsFreshersFest with the memorable hashtag: #iwantaholiday. The lucky winner was nineteen year old Rachel Hobson who is studying Marketing at Leeds Met University; she will enjoy a pair of return Ryanair flights from Leeds Bradford to Riga, the vibrant capital of Latvia.

Headlining the gig was international electronic act DJ Fresh, following performances at Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend, T4 On The Beach, Parklife, Gathering, V Festival, and Ibiza Rocks – plus two sell-out UK live tours and two no. 1 singles. Fresh, joined on stage by Messy MC gave Leeds an unforgettable performance, with a stunning sound and light show. Other huge acts included Kissy Sell Out and Britain’s Got Talent’s Loveable Rogues. The Festival was hosted by Radio Aire’s Dan Moylan and Ministry of Sound’s Tony P and supported by Voodoo Events resident DJs.
