RYANAIR ANNOUNCES OVER 350,000 EXTRA SEATS ON 2,000 EXTRA CHRISTMAS FLIGHTS

RECORD DEMAND FOR RYANAIR’S LOW FARES TO THE SUN AND SLOPES

2012-09-20 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (19 Sept) announced over 350,000 extra seats on over 2,000 extra ‘Christmas’ flights across 300 routes following record advance bookings for Ryanair’s festive flights since its winter schedules were launched last month. Ryanair confirmed its ‘flying home for Christmas’ routes to Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Poland are booking up fast, while more families than ever are looking to escape for some Christmas sun with extra flights on all routes to the Canary Islands.

Ski routes to Grenoble, Salzburg and Turin will again get extra flights due to high bookings from those looking for snow adventure and après ski this Christmas and New Year, while winter breaks to the historic cities of Warsaw and Budapest are also proving popular this season.

Ryanair celebrated its extra Christmas flights by launching a 100,000 seat sale at prices starting from €16 for travel across Europe on Mon, Tues, Wed and Thur in October and November, which are available for booking until midnight Mon (24 Sept).

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“There are just three months to Christmas and our Christmas flights are already booking up fast, so we have added over 350,000 extra seats on over 2,000 extra flights across 300 routes for the Christmas and New Year holidays. As always, lots of passengers have booked Ryanair’s low fares to return home for Christmas, but this year we are also seeing record demand for Ryanair’s low fare winter sun and ski routes as passengers look for sun or snow this Christmas and New Year, as well as winter breaks to the likes of Warsaw and Budapest.

Ryanair will operate flights right up to 15.30hrs (GMT) on Christmas Eve, resuming flights at 10.00hrs (GMT) on St Stephen’s Day, to ensuring everyone gets home for Christmas. With this record demand for Ryanair’s Christmas flights, people planning a break over the festival season should log on to Ryanair.com today to book their bargain flights for a Christmas to remember.”
