(NEWS) CAIRO, Egypt, 2026-Sep-25 — /Travel PR News/ — Riva Pizzeria is returning to Cairo’s First Nile Boat on October 1, 2026, reviving an open-air Italian dining spot on the Nile with a redesigned menu built around high-temperature, wood-fired pizza.
The reopening gives Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence another outdoor dining option as Cairo moves into its autumn season. Positioned at the entrance to the First Nile Boat, Riva pairs riverside seating with a 485°C wood-fired oven used to prepare its Neapolitan-style pizzas.
The restaurant is currently listed as temporarily closed on the official Riva dining page, with reopening scheduled for October 1. Details released by Four Seasons on September 24 show that the relaunch will introduce a completely new menu spanning antipasti, pizzas and Italian desserts.
A refreshed menu built around the oven
Pizza remains the centrepiece. The selection ranges from the classic Margherita to the Piccante with spicy salami and oregano and the Quattro Formaggi combining buffalo mozzarella, Scamorza, Grana Padano and blue cheese.
Other options include Pollo Barbecue with grilled chicken, red onion and jalapeño, and Al Pesto with homemade basil pesto, buffalo mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil and Parmesan. The signature Riva pizza combines smoked Scamorza, mushrooms, Italian salami and smoked turkey.
The menu also reaches beyond pizza. Antipasti include Caprese with buffalo mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes and aged balsamic reduction, as well as a Rucola Salad with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and balsamic dressing. Desserts include panna cotta, tiramisu and a Nutella-filled calzone finished with powdered sugar.
Danish Merchant, Director of Culinary, described the reopening as a new chapter for Riva and said the team is looking forward to bringing freshly made Neapolitan pizza back to the Nile-side setting.
Italian dining aboard the First Nile Boat
Riva is part of the broader dining collection centred on the First Nile Boat, a vessel docked on the Nile close to Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. The boat also houses restaurants serving Asian, Brazilian and Mediterranean cuisine, making it a distinct dining destination alongside the hotel itself.
The reopened Riva will continue to emphasise its outdoor setting, giving diners views across the Nile while pizzas are prepared in the wood-fired oven. Four Seasons lists food and beverage service from 5:00 pm until midnight on Riva’s dining page.
