DOHA, Qatar, 2016-1-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways, the official airline sponsor, and Qatar Duty Free (QDF), the official retail sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2016, congratulate Novak Djokovic, winner of the annual men’s international tennis tournament held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Qatar.

Djokovic earned his sixth consecutive ATP World Tour title after defeating Rafael Nadal during the final match on Saturday, 9 January. This is Djokovic’s 60th tour title over his career.

Tennis’ top seed players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer were among the players at this year’s Open. Qatar Airways proudly flew the elite cast of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams from around the world to Doha to compete in the professional contest. The event was named among the Tournaments of the Year in the 2015 ATP World Tour Awards, voted for annually by ATP players, recognising the leading standards set across the tournament.

Visitors to Qatar Airways’ pavilion at the tournament were invited to take a photograph in front of current and upcoming new destinations in the airline’s network, including Qatar Airways’ soon-to-be-launched destinations Sydney, Atlanta and Birmingham. Qatar Airways’ growing network continues to connect travellers with places they want to go, including more cities like Sydney, Australia, that host world-class tennis and other sporting events.

Award-winning travel retailer, Qatar Duty Free, showcased its portfolio of brands at an interactive pavilion. The stand presented spectators with the opportunity to experience Qatar Duty Free’s world-class shopping emporium, and to choose from a range of boutique and restaurant vouchers to spend at Qatar Duty Free.
