New York City, New York, United States, 2019-May-09 — /Travel PR News/ —
New dining and retail outlets with a decidedly New Jersey feel and flavor are coming to Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport this year, the Port Authority and the terminal’s concessions manager Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports announced today (May 06, 2019).

The rollout of new restaurants and shops is part of the Port Authority’s extensive effort to enhance and expand customer services and options across of its facilities, including Newark Liberty, John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. These improvements to the travel experience for customers include the addition of unlimited free Wi-Fi, upgraded restrooms, family-friendly amenities and real-time information on wait times at security and taxi lines at airport terminals across the agency.

“From major airport redevelopment programs to amenity enhancements, the Port Authority and its partners are committed to improving the customer experience at all of our airports,” said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole. “Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Airports is transforming Terminal B concessions into a unique dining and retail experience for travelers, with distinctive New Jersey concepts and menus to match.”

“The Port Authority, along with our terminal operators and concessionaires, is committed to improving the travel experience for our customers,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. “Across our airports, travelers are seeing important signs of progress not only on the outside, but inside of our terminals, from the addition of new retailers to enhanced amenities such as unlimited free Wi-Fi.”

In addition to the new retail and food options at Newark Liberty’s Terminal B, there are a number other features that have been added across the regional airports to enhance the travel experience, including an interactive New Jersey Hall of Fame exhibit at Newark Liberty. New state-of-the-art nursing pods are available at all of the Port Authority’s commercial airports, and improvements have been made to ensure better taxi access and ease and improved taxi time management, among other upgrades.

At the heart of the new Newark Liberty Terminal B dining and retail experience is the Jersey by the Shore food hall, where travelers can find favorite boardwalk-inspired offerings at Malone’s Fish Market, Little Tony’s Pizzeria and Firehouse Subs. Travelers looking for a libation will enjoy the beer garden setting at Budweiser Brewhouse, just blocks from Newark’s flagship Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Construction of the new dining and retail destinations is already underway. Two locations — the travel essentials store All You Need and Starbucks – are currently open and operating. The other brands will continue to open throughout 2019, introducing travelers to three branded sections of the terminal that emphasize design elements inspired by New Jersey settings: Jersey Shore boardwalks, Newark’s Ironbound section and a Garden State theme.

The Terminal B concessions program is a key component of the major redevelopment of Newark Liberty currently under way, including the largest design-build project in New Jersey history, the $2.7 billion Terminal One Redevelopment Program, which underscores the agency’s commitment to providing the best customer experience for its passengers while meeting increasing and evolving air travel demands.

The Boardwalk district of Newark’s Terminal B will bring the Jersey Shore to life, with Newark and northern New Jersey represented by the Ironbound district’s culinary, cultural and artistic features. The Garden State will offer a broad panorama of New Jersey’s best, with fresh, artisanal foods and scenic views of the state’s natural beauty.

“New Jersey has so much to offer – bustling cities, rural country sides, incredible diversity and a gorgeous coastline,” said Brad Tollefson, Vice President and Asset Lead at URW Airports. “We partnered with the Port Authority to capture and celebrate that energy and New Jersey attitude.”

Retail and concessions operators such as Areas, Canonica, HMS Host, In Motion, Pacific Gateway Concessions and Villa will operate the 22 locations coming to the terminal.

Among the other food and dining outlets opening in Terminal B are Carlo’s Bake Shop — the Hoboken-based inspiration of TLC television show Cake Boss – Smashburger, Panda Express, Italian eatery Piattino, Mexican favorite Salsarita’s, The New Stand coffee and amenities shop, Cacao Bar, Tony + Benny’s Pizza Parlor and Canonica restaurant.

The new retail options also include two new shops featuring the latest in technology and electronics: InMotion and Wired.
