PITTSBURGH, 2016-Dec-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Pittsburgh International Airport announces the launch of “First Time Flyers,” a program that will take new or infrequent air travelers from the booking process through boarding an aircraft. The course will be available from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Course attendees will learn tips on booking flights online, navigating Pittsburgh International Airport, traveling with children, the ins and outs of the security checkpoint and other topics.
“First Time Flyers” is a 90-minute course that will feature both classroom-style learning and a tour of the landside and airside terminals.
“First Time Flyers” was devised in response to the quickly changing landscape of air travel. From paperless boarding passes to new, ultra-low cost carriers entering the market, the infrequent or first time flyer may not understand just how easy flying can be.
“Over the past two years there have been many changes at the airport and in the industry,” Christina Cassotis, CEO, Allegheny County Airport Authority, said. “We’ve gone from 37 destinations to 65 and new carriers such as Frontier and others have begun service. This summer two new carriers will begin offering international service. With each of these carriers come new passengers and different experiences. We want to make sure all customers, regardless of what airline they choose to fly, feel comfortable and enjoy their visit at the airport.”
Enrollment in “First Time Flyers,” will be limited. Those interested can enroll at www.flypittsburgh.com/FirstTimeFlyers. Plans are for the course to be offered quarterly throughout the year.
“First Time Flyers” will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17 in Conference Room A, Mezzanine Level of Pittsburgh International Airport. Registration is required and the deadline to register is 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15.
