Doncaster, England, 2019-Aug-08 — /Travel PR News/ — ParkIT and Airparks, two major companies within the Holiday Extras Group to expand their presence at Doncaster Sheffield Airport as it invests £3.5m in a major car parking expansion.,

Holiday Extras – the UK market leader in travel extras such as airport parking, transfers, and travel insurance – has joined forces with Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) – one of the fastest growing airports in the UK – to install cutting-edge parking optimisation technology to manage the growing demand for customer car parking.

This investment forms part of an overall £3.5m investment being made by the airport to provide over 2,000 new parking spaces.  In a leading global airport passenger service survey, ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ), DSA has over the last year been consistently rated top in the UK for its parking facilities and their value for money.

Holiday Extras operates a portfolio of parking and travel technology businesses including Airparks, parking technology provider Park IT and Chauntry, the world’s leading provider of parking software.  With 55 destinations including long haul, a record year expected this year of 1.45m, and and an overall forecast of 4.7m passengers predicted by 2037, Doncaster Sheffield Airport is a natural choice to install this exciting technology investment.

Airparks opened a new car park at Doncaster Sheffield Airport on 1st July 2019 initially expanding capacity by more than 550 self-park spaces, rising to an additional 750 spaces by 2020.

The airport is also adding between 1500 – 1800 new spaces for its Meet and Greet car parking service which has been rated at 89% by Holiday Extras customers over the last 12 months.

A short five-minute walk to the terminal, Airparks is available exclusively through the Holiday Extras and FlyDSA.co.uk websites, providing professional and cost-effective on-site airport parking.

DSA is one of two airports that will be installing Holiday Extras’ technology innovator partner ParkIT’s Dynamic Allocation Service – the new learning module is designed to understand each valet parking operation and recommend how to manage it.  As a long-standing customer of ParkIT and with such ambitious expansion plans, DSA was a natural choice for launch this exciting new technology.
