Ottertoberfest presented by MOST – Missouri’s 529 College Savings Plan

2012-10-1 — /travelprnews.com/ — In honor of the fun-loving North American river otters, the Zoo will host Ottertoberfest, a fall event featuring traditional German biergartens, live music, kids’ activities and more. At the biergartens, visitors can purchase beer, bratwurst and other German specialties.

Otter-related kids’ activities include a riverbed water game, river recycling activity, an otter appetites game, crafts and other activities designed for ages 2-10.

Costume Character Meet-and-Greet — 11 a.m. on September 29 only

The costume character meet-and-greet will take place in Schnuck Family Plaza.

Biergarten Entertainment — 12 noon – 3 p.m.

Saturday, September 29: The Polka Connection, Joe Tucci, Charles Block

Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7: Die Spitzbaum
In conjunction with The Sheldon’s Concert To Go Series

Sunday, October 14: Good Times Band

*Bug Tussel Bluegrass Band is performing American folk music in participation of the American Arts Festival-St. Louis, an annual festival each October celebrating all mediums of American arts.

Keeper Chats and Enrichment

Each day of Ottertoberfest:

  • 10:00 a.m. — Keeper chat at North American river otters, Emerson Children’s Zoo
  • 1:30 p.m. — Keeper chat and enrichment at North American river otters, Historic Hill
