Oakland International Airport: All-You-Can-Fly private membership airline Surf Air to expand its service to Oakland

“All-You-Can-Fly” Membership Airline Adds Three Key Destinations from OAK

Oakland, California, 2014-10-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Surf Air, the nation’s first All-You-Can-Fly private membership airline, announced today that it will expand its service to Oakland, California (OAK) beginning December 15. This expansion occurs in conjunction with the delivery of the first three new Pilatus PC-12NG of Surf Air’s recent order of 65 aircraft to be delivered over the next five years. As part of that order, Surf Air will take delivery of an additional nine aircraft during 2015. With the new service to Oakland, Surf Air will now provide excellent access to the San Francisco Bay Area.

“The addition of Oakland is just the beginning of the exciting growth opportunity and expansion plan for Surf Air” said Jeff Potter, CEO of Surf Air. “Oakland, centrally located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a hot spot for California-based business and leisure travelers. We intend to continue to expand to new markets with similar characteristics that benefit our existing membership base and introduce our innovative travel experience to new members.”

In its initial schedule, Surf Air will offer a total of five daily flights from Oakland. Twice daily non-stop service to both Hawthorne (HHR), Santa Barbara (SBA) and a single daily service to Truckee Tahoe (TRK) will begin on December 15. Connecting service to Carlsbad (CRQ) and Las Vegas (LAS) is also available.

The inaugural flight from Oakland is scheduled to depart on Dec. 15 at 6:00am with arrival in Hawthorne at 7:35am.

“The service is a truly innovative offering and the first of its type from Oakland International,” said Deborah Ale Flint, Port of Oakland Director of Aviation. “The new service represents the first commercial service between the East Bay and Santa Barbara and Truckee -North Lake Tahoe; while Hawthorne will be the sixth Los Angeles area airport served from OAK,” she added.

Surf Air has added Oakland International based on the high current and potential member demand–with more than 100 deposits already placed for membership. Members will enjoy the same Surf Air benefits in these new locations, including luxury fixed-base operators, concierge service and complimentary parking.

“We are creating a growth model that is dictated by demand from savvy consumers and making private air travel affordable to a greater number of travelers,” said Sudhin Shahani, Executive Chairman of Surf Air.

Launched in 2013, Surf Air provides a simple and convenient way to fly throughout the West Coast. For a nominal monthly fee, members have unlimited access to private flights on executive aircraft departing from private air terminals with free parking and no lines or additional fees. Prospective members can take advantage of pricing as low as $1,750 per month. Membership options include Tiered, Friends & Family and Business Memberships.
