Autumn is arriving in a distinctly Cuban-inspired form at Mojo Cuban Kitchen and Rum Bar, where the Tucson restaurant has added three seasonal October offerings built around pumpkin, warm spices and a rum-forward cocktail.

The limited seasonal line-up pairs familiar fall flavors with dishes and drinks that fit Mojo’s broader menu. According to details published by Visit Tucson, the additions are Pumpkin Flan, Pumpkin Batido and the Otoño Cocktail.

Pumpkin Flan gives the traditional custard dessert an autumn treatment, combining pumpkin with cinnamon and nutmeg. The result keeps the smooth, creamy character of flan while shifting the flavor profile toward the spices commonly associated with the season.

The Pumpkin Batido takes the same idea in a colder direction. Mojo’s Cuban-style milkshake is blended with real pumpkin and warming spices, then topped with whipped cream, extending the restaurant’s existing batido offering into a fall-focused version.

For the bar menu, the Otoño Cocktail combines spiced rum, pandan liqueur, ginger beer, bitters and fresh lime juice. The mix adds a seasonal option alongside Mojo’s established selection of rum drinks and Cuban cocktail standards.

Mojo opened in 2022 at 1929 E Grant Road in midtown Tucson and is locally owned by Alison Schaffer and Nick Schaffer. Its regular menu includes Cuban comfort dishes such as ropa vieja, lechón asado, empanadas, fried yuca, mojo chicken and the Cubano sandwich, along with Cuban coffee, batidos and classic cocktails including mojitos, Cuba Libres, piña coladas and daiquiris.

The October additions give local diners and visitors a short seasonal detour from the restaurant’s year-round menu without abandoning the Cuban flavors and rum-based drinks at the center of Mojo’s identity.
