Millennium Park Summer Film Series: Voting for Favorite Chicago Film closes August 16

Voting closes August 16; winning film to be screened August 30

CHICAGO, 2016-Jun-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Chicagoans and visitors alike are invited to vote for their favorite Chicago film—to be screened at the finale of the popular Millennium Park Summer Film Series which runs Tuesdays, June 21 – August 30, at 6:30pm.

Voting is now open online at chifilmfave.org (and on-site at the Summer Film Series), and ends August 16. The top vote-getter will be announced on August 23, and screened on Tuesday, August 30, at 6:30pm.

Fans may vote for their favorite among this list of 20 Chicago-made films, which was created by the Chicago Film Office at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events:

The Chicago Film Office, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, leads the city’s effort to attract and enhance the production of feature films, television series, commercials, documentaries and all forms of local screen entertainment. Since 1980, more than 1100 feature films and television productions have shot in Chicago contributing $2 billion in local revenue.

The Summer Film Series at Millennium Park runs Tuesdays, June 21 – August 30, at 6:30pm. Guests may take a seat at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or lounge on the Great Lawn as crowd-pleasing movies are presented on a state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen. This year’s line-up includes:

The Summer Film Series is FREE, presented by the Millennium Park Foundation and co-curated with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). All films will be screened with English subtitles or captioning.
