Toronto’s Michelin-recognised dining landscape has widened again, with five new Bib Gourmands and 11 first-time Recommended restaurants joining a 2026 regional selection that now encompasses 111 establishments and 33 cuisine types.

The MICHELIN Guide unveiled the latest Toronto & Region selection at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, retaining the region’s existing Starred restaurants while adding newcomers primarily at the Bib Gourmand and Recommended levels.

The five new Bib Gourmands are Antylia, Golden Horseshoe Barbecue, Les Incompetents, RPM Bakehouse and The Lunch Lady of Saigon. Michelin uses the distinction for restaurants its inspectors consider to offer good-quality cooking at good value.

Combined with the existing recipients, the additions bring the Toronto & Region Bib Gourmand list to 31 restaurants. Another 11 establishments entered the guide as Recommended restaurants for the first time.

Fifteen restaurants retain Michelin Stars

The 2026 selection includes one restaurant at Michelin’s two-Star level and 14 restaurants at the one-Star level. The two-Star distinction remains with Restaurant Pearl Morissette in Lincoln, Ontario.

The one-Star group comprises aKin, Alo, DaNico, Don Alfonso 1890, Edulis, Enigma Yorkville, Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto, Kappo Sato, Osteria Giulia, Quetzal, Restaurant 20 Victoria, Shoushin, Sushi Masaki Saito and The Pine.

Across the complete selection, seven cuisine types are represented among Starred restaurants and 20 among Bib Gourmands. Michelin says 33 cuisine types appear across all 111 selected establishments, reflecting a dining map that reaches beyond Toronto itself into the surrounding region.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, said the latest selection reflects the talent and innovation of Toronto & Region’s restaurant community and gives newly selected establishments additional exposure to diners from both the local market and farther afield.

Four hospitality professionals receive special awards

The ceremony also recognised four individuals with Michelin Special Awards. Sharon Chan of 156 ONEFIVESIX received the Exceptional Cocktails Award, while Toni Weber of Restaurant 20 Victoria received the Sommelier Award.

Eric Roell of LORE was named recipient of the Outstanding Service Award, and Andrew Golden of newly designated Bib Gourmand restaurant Golden Horseshoe Barbecue received the Young Chef / Culinary Professional Award.

The individual honours broaden the focus beyond the restaurants themselves, recognising beverage, service and emerging culinary talent alongside the guide’s restaurant distinctions.

Mindful Voices makes its Toronto debut

The 2026 edition also introduces Michelin’s new Mindful Voices platform, an editorial initiative intended to give chefs, hoteliers and winemakers a place to discuss practices and ideas influencing their sectors.

Chefs Aldo Camarena and Ashley McKay of Antylia were introduced during the Toronto ceremony as new Mindful Voices. Michelin highlighted their work developing relationships with local farmers and Indigenous growers and incorporating those ingredients into the restaurant’s menu.

Poullennec said the initiative grew from practices observed by Michelin inspection teams and is intended to amplify hospitality professionals whose work is changing established approaches within gastronomy, hotels and wine.

Restaurant guide connects with Michelin’s Toronto hotel selection

Michelin is increasingly presenting its restaurant and hotel recommendations together as part of a broader travel proposition. Its Toronto & Region hotel listings include The Hazelton Hotel Toronto with Two MICHELIN Keys and Ace Hotel Toronto with One MICHELIN Key, alongside properties including Kimpton Saint George.

That combination gives travellers a single Michelin platform for planning both dining and accommodation, extending the guide’s role beyond restaurant discovery into wider city-break and destination planning.

Toronto joined Michelin’s North American restaurant guide network in 2022. The continent-wide programme has since continued to expand into additional destinations, while Toronto’s own selection has developed into a regional guide covering restaurants beyond the downtown core.

The complete 2026 Toronto & Region restaurant selection is available through Michelin’s official announcement and the MICHELIN Guide website and app.
