Hilton London Metropole Introduces Christmas Market Banqueting
LONDON – 2012-10-1 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hilton London Metropole invites guests to celebrate Christmas with a rustic twist, with its festive Market Banqueting package. Offering largescale banqueting with a unique medieval influence, guests can dine in style with a colourful and eclectic buffet in the layout of a traditional Christmas market – wooden carts, chalkboards, crates and all.
For an authentic foodie experience, the hotel will offer traditional festive fare with its Christmas market menu, featuring stalls loaded with an array of cross-continental epicurean delights, from a wide selection of salads, cooked meats and smoked fish, to a hearty ‘warm corner’ of pretzels, mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.
Guests will be transported to a seasonal wonderland, with vibrant food stalls lining the outer edge of the venue and fairy light-clad trees punctuating the room. Diners are seated in groups of twelve on long wooden banqueting tables, dressed to impress with carafes of wine and candle-lit lanterns.
Mains include hog roast with apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing and floured baps; and a grilled German sausage stall offering three different types of sausage, complete with mustards and pickles. A central feature is the curry and paella stand, serving freshly made dishes from oversized one-metre pans. Choices include red pepper masala turkey with coriander and cumin rice; mixed vegetable tikka masala; and Spanish chorizo sausage and seafood paella.
To finish, guests can indulge in a selection of UK and European artisan cheeses, with dried fruits, nuts, chutneys, grapes and artisan breads. For the sweet-toothed, dessert options include English trifle, pecan brownies, fruit tarts, pavlova, mince pies, chocolate delice, apple strudel, assorted cheesecakes and poached fruits.
No Christmas market would be complete without some old school funfair games – festive themed, of course. In between courses, diners can try their hand at the likes of reindeer hoopla, before continuing the party on the dance floor, with popular tunes provided by a professional DJ.
