Media Advisory For Thursday, September 20, 2012: Hackers welcome: SFO hosts THack, first time web developer event held at an airport

SAN FRANCISCO, 2012-09-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — On September 20, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) will be the first airport in the world to host THack, an event created by Tnooz to encourage collaboration in the travel technology development community.

Participants are invited to create a new product using the application program interfaces (API’s) made available from sponsors Amadeus, Expedia Affiliate Network and Travelport and other donated and freely available travel industry APIs, including those from San Francisco-headquartered companies such as Twitter and Yelp.

THack @ SFO will allow the developers to present their ideas and will conclude with awarding two $1,500 prizes awarded by Tnooz after appearing before a panel of judges. Following the all-day event, SFO will be the first airport in the word to host the travel group Travel Massive; convening 100+ online and offline travel industry guests at a reception dubbed the Travel Massive Lounge @ SFO.
