McLEAN, VA, 2015-3-12 — /Travel PR News/ — The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has named the MCI Group’s Andrea Irani as the new Managing Director of HSMAI United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Irani has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality, media events planning and conference management, and, through her role as Account Manager for MCI Middle East’s Association Management and Consultancy division, has access to the latest global practices in association growth strategies and product development.
“Andrea is a hotelier by profession with a proven track record,” said Bob Gilbert, president and CEO of HSMAI Americas. “She is experienced, personable and a highly-efficient organizer. Andrea is a self-motivated individual who can work under tight timelines and structured environments and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth orientated work environment. We are excited to have her as the Managing Director for UAE.”
Irani’s background in the hotel industry includes the Taj Group in Mumbai and the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai. After working in hotels, Irani launched Entertainment Plus Gulf magazine in Gulf News. In addition, she has experience with associations like the UAE Internal Audit Association (IAA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Information Technology Governance Assurance Forum (ITGAF). For the UAE Internal Audit Association, Irani developed a website and increased its membership through an aggressive membership retention campaign.
Irani is a strategic planner and implementer with demonstrated abilities in conducting special events, devising brand building activities and accelerating the business growth. She has led projects with various companies to develop strategies to maximize distribution, audience, and revenues.
