(NEWS) HANOVER, Germany, 2026-Jul-6 — /Travel PR News/ — Travel companies are increasingly shifting their marketing away from idealised holiday imagery in favour of campaigns that reflect authentic experiences and the stories travellers share long after they return home.
TUI Group has adopted that approach with the launch of a new advertising campaign for its UK cruise brand, Marella Cruises. According to a press release published by the Group, the Your Next Story campaign focuses on genuine holiday memories and aims to challenge conventional perceptions of cruise travel among travellers aged over 40.
Rather than presenting a polished collection of picture-perfect holiday scenes, the campaign follows a couple reminiscing about their cruise while sharing their experiences with friends. The narrative unfolds through a series of familiar, light-hearted moments that capture how holidays are remembered and retold over time.
Developed in collaboration with creative agency Leo UK and produced by Brace Productions, the campaign uses vintage camera lenses to give the advert a soft, nostalgic aesthetic. Accompanied by Ooh La La by Faces, the creative is designed to evoke the way memories become richer with every retelling.
The integrated campaign will launch on 6 July 2026 across television, on-demand services, print, digital platforms and social media. Broadcast placements include ITV, Channel 4, STV and Sky, while media planning and buying is being managed by EssenceMediacom.
According to Marella Cruises, the campaign also reflects the changing profile of today’s over-40 travellers, portraying them as active, adventurous and curious rather than fitting traditional travel marketing stereotypes. The messaging is intended to align with the cruise line’s all-inclusive offering, onboard entertainment and end-to-end holiday experience, encouraging guests to focus on creating lasting memories.
Marella Cruises is part of TUI Group and operates five ships—Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2, Marella Explorer, Marella Explorer 2 and Marella Voyager—making it the UK’s third-largest cruise operator. The company has more than three decades of cruise experience and includes tips and service charges as standard across its all-inclusive holidays. It has also received Good Housekeeping Reader Recommended recognition for onboard service every year since 2019.
