The online votes were cast by professionals working within the tourism industry and by the public on the organisation’s official website. This year’s red-carpet ceremony took place in the capital city of Greece – Athens – in the historic Zappeion Megaron Hall on Saturday 30 June. During this most eagerly anticipated event in the European hospitality industry, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko was recognised as a winner of one of the most desired awards in the hospitality business.

The SPA centre has been recently renovated and features unique thermal facilities of the world-leading Germany company Klafs. For the first time in Bulgaria, guests can enjoy a tailor-made aroma steam bath with a capacity of 15 people, which is not only the first of its kind in Bulgaria but the first to be produced by the German manufacturer. The fully refurbished Kempinski The Spa offers four different types of saunas: a last-generation herbal sauna with a capacity of 20 people; an infrared cabin with built-in biometric sensors for body temperature, blood pressure and heartbeat; an authentic Finnish dry sauna; and an innovative sanarium – a combination of steam bath and sauna with a capacity of 15 people. The new thermal area also has a self-heating wellness bench laconium, an individual design of architects Margarita Bojinova and Slavin Bailov; two experience showers for heat-cold contrast with four exotic experiences – warm tropical rain, cold waterfall, refreshing mist and power jets; an energising snow room with a constant temperature of -13ºC for cryotherapy; and a specially organised deep digital detox area, equipped with five self-heating ergonomic wellness beds adjustable according to the individual preferences of the client. Here guests can immerse themselves in a fairy tale of fire and ice in front of a fireplace, opposite which is located an ice fountain for refreshment and a designer Himalayan fountain with drinking water to quench the thirst.

The water areа of the modern SPA centre has a refurbished interior featuring one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor children’s pool and one outdoor and new indoor Jacuzzis. The new spa centre offers the world-renowned NORMATEC technology – a legs recovery system for use after sport to enhance blood flow and speed recovery, endorsed by sportspeople and athletes.

The Vitamin bar, next to the spa reception, has a completely new look with a lit-up bar with semi-precious stones, a new modern relaxation area, a fireplace and an exotic inside landscaped courtyard garden, offering a wide choice of refreshing cocktails, and a healthy balanced menu.

With 1200 sq m of space, the brand-new spa centre is one of the biggest and best equipped in the country, offering a variety of seasonal treatments, exclusive cosmetics and authentic healing techniques from the Far East.
