
JAL Unveils Renovated Sakura Lounge at Chubu Centrair, Boosting International Connectivity

The lounge, which originally opened in 2005 and was closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19, has been completely renovated with a new interior design and updated culinary offerings. Notable additions include the debut of the popular JAL Original Beef Curry at Chubu Centrair, as well as local Nagoya specialties like hitsumabushi-style eel, kishimen, and red bean & butter pancakes. Alongside the lounge reopening, JAL’s 2025 summer schedule will see the Honolulu-Chubu route transition from four weekly flights to daily services starting July 18, 2025, enhancing convenience and connectivity for international travelers. Originally closed in March 2020 due to the suspension of direct international flights amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the lounge—first launched in 2005—has now undergone its first major renovation.
The updated design features a fresh interior aesthetic and enhanced food and beverage options, including new, exclusive menu items. For the first time at Chubu Centrair, guests can enjoy the renowned JAL Original Beef Curry, a signature dish available at the Haneda and Narita lounges, alongside Nagoya-inspired specialties such as hitsumabushi-style eel, kishimen, and red bean & butter pancakes, among other unique offerings.
In line with JAL’s commitment to providing exceptional service, the airline’s 2025 summer schedule, effective from July 18, 2025, will also see the Honolulu-Chubu route upgraded to daily flights.
