IND welcomes Spirit Airlines’ new, seasonal nonstop flight to Myrtle Beach

Spirit Airlines launches third nonstop flight from Indy in the past six weeks, with more to come

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 2019-May-07 — /Travel PR News/ — The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) adds another flight to the popular vacation spot of Myrtle Beach today (May 2, 2019), as Spirit Airlines launches its new, seasonal nonstop flight to the popular southern East Coast destination out of Indy. This is the third flight Spirit Airlines has launched out of Indianapolis since March.

The flight to Myrtle Beach International Airport will depart from the Indy airport three times weekly, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:35 p.m. Myrtle Beach offers travelers 60 miles of beach access, a vibrant night-life, a 200-foot SkyWheel and more than 50 mini-golf courses. These activities and attractions are among the many reasons Myrtle Beach is a popular vacation destination.

“Spirit has come out of the gate with not one, but three nonstop flights in just a few short weeks – that speaks volumes to the value the Indy market delivers to our airline partners and others considering us for the future,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

Spirit Airlines is the newest airline to fly out of the Indy airport. The airline previously launched its inaugural flights out of the Indy airport in March with daily nonstop flights to Las Vegas and Orlando. In addition to today’s flight, Spirit will launch nonstop flights to Tampa Bay and Fort Myers, Fla., this winter.

Spirit Airlines also can connect passengers to 70 cities in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean, and is known for its on-time performance, self-serve convenience technologies, its young aircraft fleet and its commitment to creating an excellent customer experience.

The Indy airport serves more than 9 million travelers annually, averaging 145 daily flights – seasonally and year-round – to 50 nonstop destinations.
