(PRESS RELEASE) CHICAGO, IL, United States, 2026-Jul-7 — /Travel PR News/ — Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has announced the opening of Hyatt Regency London Olympia, a 204-room hotel located within the newly redeveloped Olympia destination in West London.
The new property is the fifth Hyatt Regency hotel in London and forms part of Hyatt’s continuing expansion across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Positioned in the centre of the £1.3 billion Olympia redevelopment, the hotel is designed to serve business and leisure travellers visiting one of London’s newest destinations for culture, entertainment, events and commerce.
Guillaume Paupy, Area Vice President for Hyatt U.K. & Ireland, said the opening represents an important step in Hyatt’s regional growth strategy. He noted that the hotel brings together the Hyatt Regency brand’s approach to approachable hospitality, practical design, intuitive service and a strong sense of local connection in a location that is becoming increasingly important for London’s events, business and leisure landscape.
Hyatt Regency London Olympia is situated directly opposite Kensington Olympia station, providing convenient transport connections to central London and Heathrow Airport. Holland Park, Kensington Palace, the Design Museum and the Natural History Museum are also within easy reach of the property.
The hotel is located in the heart of the Olympia redevelopment, a major transformation project that is reshaping the historic site into a mixed-use destination. The wider development incorporates office space, restaurants, live entertainment, theatre and large-scale event facilities, creating a setting intended to support both visitors to exhibitions and conferences and guests exploring West London.
A Historic Building Reworked for a New Era
Hyatt Regency London Olympia occupies Emberton House, a London landmark that originally opened in 1937 as one of Europe’s largest multi-storey car parks. The building has been reimagined through an architectural collaboration involving Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC.
London-based interior design studio twenty2degrees has transformed the former industrial structure into a contemporary hotel environment while retaining references to the building’s original character. The interiors combine elements of early twentieth-century industrial design with Art Deco influences, reflecting Olympia’s history and the architectural qualities of Emberton House.
Artwork throughout the hotel connects the property with the site’s cultural legacy. Corridor walls feature modern interpretations of Eadweard Muybridge’s pioneering chronophotography, referencing the inaugural Hippodrome Circus staged at Olympia. Guestrooms include framed visual elements inspired by the world’s first computer exhibition, which was held at Olympia, as well as references to artists who have performed at the venue, including Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and The Chemical Brothers.
Metal detailing, figured marble and a palette of grey and deep green contribute to the interior atmosphere, combining contemporary comfort with visual references to Art Deco craftsmanship.
Dining Options for Guests and the Local Community
The hotel introduces three dining concepts designed around the pace of the surrounding Olympia neighbourhood.
The 1937 Lounge & Bar serves as the hotel’s main social setting, offering coffee, light dishes and cocktails throughout the day. The Market provides a grab-and-go option for guests with busy schedules, including attendees travelling to nearby exhibitions, meetings and events.
Next to the hotel, Idalia restaurant is located in the Grade II-listed Pillar Hall. Led by chefs Samantha Williams and Lorena Tommasi, the all-day dining concept presents modern British cuisine influenced by European and Asian flavours. Its menu is intended to reflect Olympia’s international community of visitors, residents and business travellers.
Guestrooms Designed Around Work, Rest and Preparation
Hyatt Regency London Olympia features 204 guestrooms and suites across 14 room categories. Each room has been organised around two distinct areas: a “Work and Play” zone featuring the bed and an integrated work desk, and a separate “Groom and Prep” zone divided by a sliding glass door.
The hotel also incorporates keyless entry, energy-efficient systems, flexible layouts and in-room amenities intended to support comfort, convenience and connectivity throughout each stay.
Beyond the guestrooms, the hotel’s shared spaces have been designed as welcoming areas where guests can meet, work, relax or spend time away from Olympia’s nearby exhibition halls and event venues.
Meetings, Events and Wellbeing Facilities
Hyatt Regency London Olympia offers more than 900 square feet of flexible meeting and event space across three rooms. The facilities are suited to board meetings, executive workshops and smaller gatherings.
For larger events, hotel guests have direct access to the wider Olympia event ecosystem, including an international convention centre with capacity for up to 20,000 attendees, located only a short walk from the property.
Wellbeing facilities include an on-site fitness centre and direct entry to a premium fitness studio within the Olympia complex. Guests can also use nearby floodlit tennis courts, while Holland Park offers additional outdoor space for relaxation and recreation.
Georges Moura, General Manager of Hyatt Regency London Olympia, said the hotel has been created to connect visitors with Olympia’s history, culture and evolving community. He added that the team will focus on making stays smooth and memorable for guests attending conferences, exhibitions, live performances and other events in the area.
Reservations are now available at Hyatt Regency London Olympia. World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points when staying at the hotel.
