(NEWS) HOOFDDORP, North Holland, Netherlands, 2026-Oct-02 — /Travel PR News/ — Hoofddorp is bringing back a local Sinterklaas tradition this autumn, transforming the monumental Polderhuis on Marktplein into the House of Sint for a series of family visits from November 18 through December 5, 2026.
The seasonal attraction, detailed by Visit Haarlemmermeer, revives an experience last staged at the Polderhuis in the early 2000s. Hoofddorp Centrum and Stichting Kinderopvang Haarlemmermeer (SKH), whose administrative office is based in the building, are working together on the return.
Visitors will follow an interactive route through several rooms in the Polderhuis, including Sinterklaas’s bedroom and a gift-wrapping room where the Pieten are preparing for the December 5 gift-giving evening. The route concludes in the building’s main hall with a festive show featuring Sinterklaas and the Pieten.
Daniëlle Meijer, Center Manager of Hoofddorp Centrum, said the setting gives children the chance to step inside the place where Sinterklaas is staying, explore the rooms and meet the Pieten before the closing show.
Visits are scheduled on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between November 18 and December 5 and last no more than one hour. Fixed time slots are being used to keep the experience small-scale and manageable for families.
The House of Sint is part of a wider Sinterklaas programme in Hoofddorp Centre. Sinterklaas is due to be welcomed during the local arrival parade on Sunday, November 15, with additional visits around the centre planned on subsequent weekends.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 8, priced at €12.50 per person excluding service fees. Reservations and practical information are available through the House of Sint page, with each booking tied to a fixed entry time.
