Hilton Orlando Appoints Gino Marasco As Director Of Sales

2012-12-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Gino Marasco has been named Hilton Orlando’s new director of sales according to Doug Gehret, the hotel’s general manager. Marasco will lead the sales efforts for the 1417-room Hilton Orlando which has twice been the winner of Hilton Worldwide’s corporate “Connie Award”.

Recipients of this award, named after Conrad Hilton the company’s founder, are considered the best in the Americas for loyalty, guest satisfaction and quality. Hilton Orlando won the award an unprecedented two years in a row 2011 and 2012, the property opened just off International Drive in 2010.

“Gino’s expertise in the group business coupled with our 175,000 square feet of beautiful, modern and flexible function space is a win-win for our clients,” said Gehret.

Marasco, a 1990 graduate of the University of Central Florida began his hospitality career in the food and beverage operation at The Walt Disney Company. He moved up through the ranks of catering and conference services rising to senior sales manager. In the years that followed he held executive sales positions with Sea Island Company, The Ritz-Carlton and Loews Hotels.

“We’re in a new normal now and seeing the growth of corporate meetings. We are also seeing a shortening of the booking window for corporations so our responsibility is large and our opportunity to impress is in a condensed time period. I am thrilled to be here at Hilton Orlando and work with a team that is the best of the best,” said Marasco.

“Gino came equipped with great strengths and experience in building performing sales teams which will enhance our team’s continued success in delivering to our clients’ expectations,” said Mona Ingram, director of sales and marketing, Hilton Orlando.
