Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort Announces Christmas Dining Options

Rainbow Lanai, Tropics Bar & Grill, Bali Steak & Seafood and the Waikiki Starlight Luau Will Offer Special Holiday Menus on Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

HONOLULU – 2012-11-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is celebrating the holiday season with festive spreads that will bring holiday cheer to three restaurants at the resort, and the popular Waikiki Starlight Luau.

Rainbow Lanai on the ground floor of the Rainbow Tower, will feature a prime-rib dinner buffet on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 5:00 to 9:30 p.m. The lavish spread includes dozens of cold and hot choices with a variety of salads, sushi, poke, prime rib, baked ham, fish fillet, turkey, snow crab legs, dim sum, and even a pasta station. The dessert station will be a fantasyland of flavors including such choices as Christmas Yule log, chestnut cake, eggnog panna cotta, candy cane white chocolate mousse, and chocolate fountain with fresh fruit. The cost will be $59 for adults and $29 for children under the age of 12.

Tropics Bar & Grill, oceanfront in the Alii Tower, will offer a delicious four-course prix fixe dinner menu in addition to an a la carte menu between 5 and 10 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tropics’ four-course menu will include Hamakua mushroom bisque; choice of shrimp ceviche Poisson cru or Hirabara mixed green & Big Island hearts of palm salad; entrée selections include pan-seared Kona Kampachi with warm sea asparagus salad or a 10 oz. center cut rib-eye steak. The cost for the four course prix fixe menu will be $68 for adults and $34 for children.

At Bali Steak & Seafood, the resort’s award-winning culinary landmark, Chef de Cuisine Matt Alleshouse will offer four-course prix-fixe menus for both adults and kids from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The adult menu begins with a choice between Kahuku sweet corn and crab chowder and seared diver scallops. The salad is either Waimea mixed greens or Hirabara Farms spinach salad. For their entrée, diners can choose one from among six choices: filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, prime New York steak with Cabernet demi-glace, prime rib of beef with au jus, Volcano island honey sesame glazed goose, Kona kampachi or miso glazed island snapper. The dessert finale will be a chocolate peppermint mousse cake. The cost for the prix fixe menu will be $80 per person. For the younger diners, Chef Alleshouse has put together a special Christmas menu priced at $45. The children will enjoy the Kahuku sweet corn chowder, followed by Waimea mixed greens and then a choice of petit filet mignon, grilled chicken breast or penne pasta. The chocolate peppermint mousse cake will also be the finale for the children.

The Waikiki Starlight Luau will be offered on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so that guests will be able to enjoy Christmas “Hawaiian Style.” The luau is known for its delectable spread of island offerings and a high-energy, dazzling show by the dancers of Tihati Productions. The Christmas spread at the Waikiki Starlight Luau this year will feature a variety of salads, including local tomato salad, seafood salad, ahi poke and sushi. Hot items include kalua pork with braised cabbage, honey & mustard baked ham, seared island catch and charred beef. Held on the rooftop garden of the Mid-Pacific Conference Center, the luau costs $102 for regular seating, $125 for Golden Circle seating.
