HIAA President and CEO Joyce Carter elected Regional Advisor to the 2015 Airports Council International North America World Governing Board

Halifax, N.S., 2015-10-12 — /Travel PR News/ — HIAA President and CEO, Joyce Carter has been elected to the 2015 Airports Council International North America (ACI-NA) World Governing Board as a Regional Advisor. The new members were announced October 6, during the 2015 ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Long Beach, California.

“Joyce has been active in airport development for many years and her experience and perspective will serve the ACI World Governing Board very well,” said Angela Gittens, Director General, Airports Council International – World. “We are all looking forward to what we know will be very valuable contributions.”

The mission of ACI-NA is to advocate policies and provide services that strengthen the ability of airports to serve their passengers, customers and communities. As a Regional Advisor, Joyce will represent North American airports on the ACI World Governing Board.

“The North American airport industry is entering a new era of increased collaboration on emerging issues that airports are facing on a global level,” said Airports Council International – North America President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “I applaud Joyce’s appointment as an ACI-NA Regional Advisor to the ACI World Governing Board. Joyce Carter joined HIAA in 1999, and since then has been integral in HIAA’s growth and development, becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2006, Chief Strategy Officer in 2008, and President and CEO in 2014. She is past Chairwoman of the Halifax Gateway Council. She serves as a member of Dalhousie University’s Board of Governors and is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of their Executive Committee. Joyce is a Board Member of the Canadian Airports Council, as well as the Atlantic Canada Airports Association. In addition, Joyce is a Board Member of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Ltd.
