George Best Belfast City Airport opens new and luxury lounge

Belfast, 2014-5-23 — /Travel PR News/ — All passengers travelling from George Best Belfast City Airport are invited to enjoy the comfort and luxury of the new ‘Aspire Lounge’, opened today by Dame Mary Peters.

The lounge, which is operated by Swissport, formerly known as Servisair, further enhances the facilities at Belfast City Airport, which transports over 2.5 million passengers each year.

Business and leisure customers alike can now take advantage of the quiet, relaxing environment, whilst enjoying a selection of newspapers, magazines and beverages and snacks on offer, before travelling to one of the domestic or summer European locations served by the airport.

Chief Executive of George Best Belfast City Airport, Brian Ambrose, said: “With a record number of passengers travelling through the airport in 2013, and 2014 set to be just as busy, it is important that we maintain the high standard of service our customers our used to, and will therefore continue to heavily invest in facilities at the airport to further enhance the passenger experience now and into the future.

“The Aspire Lounge is our newest facility for passengers to enjoy before boarding their flight and I look forward to working with Swissport, and our other service providers, to ensure the airport remains an attractive offering to passengers from across the world, and airlines alike.”

Entry to the Aspire Lounge in Belfast City Airport costs adult passengers just £18.99, with reduced rates for children. The lounge will also welcome members of the Priority Pass and , Airport Angel membership schemes, Aerlingus Gold Circle card holders, CityWing Business Select Passengers, Flybe premium customers and LinksAir ‘W Class’ members.

The Lounge will be open daily from 0500 with three food menus throughout the day. These include bacon rolls, a selection of cereals and fresh fruit, fresh soup and bread rolls, and cheese and biscuits.

At the official opening of the lounge, former Olympic Gold Pentathlon winner, Dame Mary Peters, said:
“The eyes on the world have been on Northern Ireland in recent years with the Titanic Centenary, the World Police and Fire Games, and more recently the Giro d’Italia Big Start, and it is fantastic that the airport has such wonderful facilities to welcome these tourists to Northern Ireland.
