George Best Belfast City Airport announces return of Bangor 10K for 2019 on Saturday 28th September

BELFAST, Northern Ireland, 2019-Jul-22 — /Travel PR News/ — The Bangor 10k in association with George Best Belfast City Airport has retained it’s status as the Athletics NI championship event and will return for 2019 with a 10 am start on Saturday 28th September.

With entries capped at 1,000 for the safety and enjoyment of all, runners are advised to register early and to take advantage of the early bird rate for entries received before July 31st. The route, which has been officially measured, will remain the same as in previous years, with a picturesque start in the shadow of Bangor Castle and an atmospheric finish in family friendly Ward Park.

The race, which will be chip timed, is part of the Novosco Grand Prix series and boasts a generous prize fund of £3,400. Finishers will receive a bespoke medal, a free gift and all online entries will be issued with a personalised race bib.

With a rich history dating back 30 years, the event continues to go from strength to strength, due in large part to the support of sponsors, and is much anticipated as one of the highlights on the local running calendar.

Michelle Hatfield, Director of Corporate Services at George Best Belfast City Airport said;

“Congratulations to North Down Athletic Club for organising what is always a fantastic event for runners and spectators. This is the third year that Belfast City Airport has supported the Bangor 10K and the event is always so well received by athletes and the supporters who come out on the day to cheer on the runners.

Belfast City Airport is committed to continuing to make a positive impact on our community and supporting local sports clubs is just one of the ways in which we do this. Through our Community Fund, we have donated nearly £500,000 to local community projects and it is extremely rewarding to support such fantastic events like the Bangor 10K.”
