Galliford Try, Carillion and BAM Construction selected for Manchester Airports Group (MAG) framework

2013-06-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Galliford Try, Carillion and BAM Construction have been selected as preferred bidders for the Manchester Airports Group (MAG) capital delivery framework, potentially worth up to £500 million in value over the next five years.

The framework will initially operate for three years with the option for two 12-month extensions. The framework will cover all of MAG’s capital delivery needs across the Group portfolio which includes the airports of Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports.

Andrew Cowan, Chief Operating Officer for Manchester Airports Group (MAG), said: “The Group has doubled in sized this year with the acquisition of London Stansted and with a number of major projects due to get underway, we wanted to have a group of partners alongside us capable of delivering high-quality engineering and construction work so that we can continue to develop the business.

“We’ve also selected partners that are capable of covering the wide geographical footprint of our operations as we now have airports in London, the South, Midlands and the North of the country. They are also experienced in the aviation sector and will get to use those skills across a wide array of assets including runways, terminals, car parks and our property portfolio. We need partners that share our vision and drive so we are pleased to have secured three companies of suitable scale to our framework roster.”

MAG now serves nearly 42 million passengers through its ownership and operation of Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports. Its property and facilities management arm, MAG Property, is responsible for the Group’s £500m estate and the development of Manchester’s Airport City.

MAG’s overall strategic intent is to increase long term shareholder value by generating profitable growth, developing its assets and deploying efficient and customer focused operating processes throughout the business. In February, the Group completed the acquisition of London Stansted Airport and received outline planning permission of Airport City at the start of 2013.
