The Gallivanter’s Guide

Known for its honest opinion, The Gallivanter’s Guide has named Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong Best Hotel/Resort in East Asia in its January issue.

Established in 1991, The Gallivanter’s Guide sets the benchmarks for high end travellers. Greatly recognised by top journalists, travellers, hoteliers and travel advisors, the publication takes no advertising and employs no journalists.  The editors Lyn Middlehurst and David Maslin personally do all the reviews and this is restricted to only the best hotels and resorts in the world.

Forbes Five-Star Awards

Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 58th annual Star Rating list, awarding Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong with a rarequadruple Five-Star rating, one of only three hotels in the world to achieve this distinction.  As a sign of the Hotel’s consistent dedication to excellence, this is the third year for Michelin Three Starred Chinese restaurant Lung King Heen; the third year for Michelin Two Starred French restaurant Caprice; the fifth year for The Spa atFour Seasons and the seventh year for the Hotel to have achieved Five Stars consecutively.

Forbes Travel Guide, formerly Mobil Travel Guide, has defined the industry’s highest standard for excellence in hospitality for more than 50 years. As the originators of the prestigious Star Rating system, Forbes Travel Guideprovides one of the most comprehensive evaluation systems of hotels, restaurants and spas in the world. Star Ratings are awarded by a team of anonymous professional inspectors. In the words of Forbes Travel Guide, its inspectors “travel the world to assess hotels, restaurants and spas against up to 800 objective standards.” Star Ratings ultimately emphasise quality of service. Five-Star properties are defined as “outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.”

Hotel General Manager Christoph Schmidinger is humbled by the acknowledgments and wants to express gratitude to both The Gallivanter’s Guide and Forbes Five-Star Awards. To have received twenty stars and another covetable award at the same time means a lot to the Hotel staff, and he praised the consistency of service from the team at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong in every outlet- the renowned restaurants Lung King Heen and Caprice, the Spa, and the Hotel overall.  He also noted the dedication required to achieve the coveted Five-Star accolade and hold on to it for so many years running. “It’s not a one off, it’s proof of consistency. Guests can rely on enjoying Five-Star service when coming to us.”
