Flybe appoints Rob Pendle as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Exeter, England, 2018-Oct-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Pendle as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO), effective 15th October 2018.  He has assumed the position from interim post holder, Kieran Graham, who has been acting in this capacity on a short-term basis for the past five months.

Rob, who originally hails from the UK, joins Flybe from Texas where for the past four years he has been Director, Global Maintenance & Chief Technical Officer with the Bristow Group Inc based in Houston.  Whilst there, Rob was responsible for leading and co-ordinating the worldwide maintenance teams within Bristow Helicopters.  This included developing and deploying global maintenance standards (with the emphasis on enhancing business and safety performance) and putting into place a 24/7 technical and logistics support for the entire Bristow operation worldwide.

Rob brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked his way up through the British Airways ranks over a 30-year period, starting as an avionic apprentice and eventually becoming Director and GM at BA Avionic Engineering in South Wales.

Flybe CEO Christine Ourmières-Widener said: “We are pleased to welcome Rob to our senior management team.  His exceptional level of experience will enable him to continue providing the strong leadership necessary to support the performance of our Maintenance & Engineering Department and our MRO activities.

Commenting on his new appointment, Rob added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Flybe.  I am looking forward to developing a strong working relationship with an obviously talented team and, at the same time, continuing to build upon the very positive improvements already put in place by my predecessor.”
