EVA Air secured three No. 1 category awards at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards and retained its 5-Star Airline status for an 11th consecutive year.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • EVA Air placed first in World’s Best Premium Economy Class, Best Premium Economy Class Amenities and World’s Most Family Friendly Airline at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards.
  • The carrier recorded 18 top-ten placements across the 2026 awards, covering cabin products, catering, staff service, cleanliness, airport services and Wi-Fi.
  • EVA Air’s 5-Star Airline certification remains in place for an 11th consecutive year, a status the airline had separately announced in May 2026.
  • The airline is scheduled to launch five weekly nonstop Taipei–Delhi flights with Airbus A330-300 aircraft on 1 December 2026.

EVA Air has taken first place in three categories at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, with premium economy and family travel emerging as the strongest themes in the carrier’s latest passenger-survey results.

The Taiwan-based airline was named World’s Best Premium Economy Class, Best Premium Economy Class Amenities and World’s Most Family Friendly Airline. In total, EVA Air recorded 18 top-ten placements across the 2026 awards, spanning cabin products, catering, staff service, cleanliness, airport services and onboard Wi-Fi.

The latest awards come alongside EVA Air’s continuing 5-Star Airline status, which the carrier had already confirmed in May for an 11th consecutive year. The September results therefore add a new set of passenger-voted World Airline Awards to an existing 2026 certification rather than representing a separate renewal of the rating.

Premium economy remains central to EVA Air’s recognition

EVA Air’s strongest results are concentrated in premium economy, a cabin category the airline first introduced in 1992. SKYTRAX also independently lists EVA Air first in its 2026 premium economy ranking, with the carrier additionally taking the award for best premium economy amenities.

Edward Plaisted, Chief Executive Officer of SKYTRAX, highlighted both the airline’s premium economy history and its performance in family travel, saying the family-friendly award reflects efforts to make journeys easier for passengers travelling with children.

SKYTRAX’s family-friendly airline assessment considers factors including family seating, check-in, priority boarding, children’s meals and amenities, entertainment, baggage policies and assistance from airport and cabin staff.

Albert Liao, EVA Air Chief Executive Vice President, attributed the results to the airline’s employees and said the carrier would continue investing across the passenger journey while maintaining its focus on safety, service and sustainability.

Delhi route adds another milestone before year-end

EVA Air is also preparing to expand its network before the end of 2026. The airline plans to begin nonstop Taipei–Delhi service on 1 December, operating five flights a week with Airbus A330-300 aircraft. EVA Air says the route will make it the only Taiwan-based airline operating nonstop passenger service to India.

The carrier has accumulated several other recognitions during 2026, including being named the No. 1 International Airline in Travel + Leisure’s annual rankings and receiving AirlineRatings.com’s 7-Star PLUS safety rating. Those honours use different methodologies from the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards and should be viewed as separate assessments.

Additional information about the airline’s network, cabins and passenger services is available through the EVA Air website.
