Bill Dolan, chairman of Dolan Hotels said he was delighted with the company’s achievement.  ‘We work hard to ensure that each of our four-star hotels provide guests with the highest quality food and exceptional levels of service. We are very proud that all three of our hotels have been given the top award – it is a great accomplishment for the Dolan Hotels Group and testament to the dedication of our loyal team.’

David DeCarteret, director at Jersey Tourism, commended the Dolan Hotels Group on its achievement. ‘Hotel grading and awards are of significant importance for consumers as they are a mark of quality. In all sectors consumers are more and more focused on value and quality, and no more so than when they are looking to choose and book a destination and hotel accommodation.  We are delighted that Dolan’s has attained the standard necessary to achieve a Gold Taste Award, which sits well with their four star hotels, congratulations to the Dolan team for this excellent mark of quality.’

The Taste Awards aim to acknowledge the food and drink establishments that consistently offer high quality dining experiences and recognise the importance of the food and drink industry across the UK. They also take note of the amount of fresh produce that a restaurant uses in their menus. The awards are based on a lengthy set of criteria that range from the taste and presentation of the food to the service and presentation of staff. The accreditations are award by Quality in Tourism, the assessment service for VisitEngland.  VisitEngland was formed in 2009 as the national organisation for tourism in England.

Dolan Hotels is Jersey’s only four-star hotel group boasting top quality restaurants at each of its hotels, the Somerville Hotel in St Aubin, Hotel Cristina in St Lawrence and The Golden Sands in St Brelade. The Group also owns and manages the Merchant House Brasserie at Jersey Museum.
