2013-06-18 — /travelprnews.com/ — With the expansion of Terminal 2, Copenhagen Airport is also upgrading the café and shopping facilities in the area before the security screening: Travellers will now be able to kick start their travels with a spot of self-indulgence at Lagkagehuset, Caffè Ritazza and 7-eleven’s new shop concept.
With the official opening of the refurbished Terminal 2, travellers can not only look forward to more space and a larger number of check-in desks and kiosks: Terminal 2 also offers three new landside café and shop concepts.
”The travel experience starts as soon as you arrive at the airport. We are continually striving to optimise our facilities, including the public facilities before the security screening area. In the departure hall, we are building on the success of the Lagkagehuset bakery at the airport with the addition of a new shop. We are also launching a Caffè Ritazza, which many coffee enthusiasts know and love from Terminal 3. At 7-eleven we are introducing a brand new concept which includes a new ‘health counter’ as well as a seating area,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales and Market for Copenhagen Airports.
Good send-off with sandwiches and quality coffee
In the past few years, Lagkagehuset has become a regular Copenhagen favorite, bringing joy to both Danes and international visitors to the capital. The bakery shop in Terminal 2 complements the two already found beyond the security screening and is aimed at travellers as well as friends and family coming along for a send-off over a light meal or a good cup of coffee.
”In addition to scrumptious cakes and breads, we have decided to focus on sandwiches and salads, which are in great demand at the airport. Everything is made from scratch using fresh and delicious seasonal ingredients,” explained Lagkagehuset’s founder Ole Kristoffersen.
Travellers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a good cup of coffee at Caffè Ritazza, which has moved and is now to be found landside.
”Caffè Ritazza is mainly about quality coffee and delicious sandwiches on the go with an Italian twist. Our skilled baristas produce the high standard of coffee experience we are known for – whether you prefer black coffee, a double espresso or a flat white,” said Morten Solberg Nilsen, General Manager of SSP, the company behind Caffè Ritazza.
Healthy option and a chance to have a seat
After a complete refurbishment, 7-eleven is presenting a brand new shop concept with a more spacious, lighter design. With enhanced focus on health, 7-eleven is also introducing a special refrigerated ‘health counter’ in the T2 shop:
”Travellers on the go are requesting healthy products, and the health counter offers such items as freshly cut fruit, salads and delicious sandwiches from Cofoco. We have also added a seating area in the shop allowing customers to relax and enjoy their food before passing through the security screening,” explained shop manager Baskim Emurlahi.
