CityJet Launches New Flight From London City Airport to Nuremberg

2013-01-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — Passengers checking in at London City Airport [this week] were treated to thigh-slapping musical entertainment, as European airline CityJet launched a new service to the German city of Nuremberg.

The new route is CityJet’s second to Germany and will operate twice daily, with fares starting from £109 return. An oompah band entertained passengers at LCY to mark the launch, with the inaugural flight taking off on Sunday 27th January.

Nuremberg, in the south east of the country, is an important city for business and several big global brands are based there, including Siemens, Adidas, Puma and Faber-Castell.

Matthew Hall, Chief Commercial Officer at London City Airport said: “We are delighted that CityJet continues to expand its network out of LCY. This new route will be popular with business travellers, who choose the airport because of the convenience we offer, with quick check-in and arrival times and easy access to and from central London.”

The new route increases CityJet’s network to 22 European destinations.

Christine Ourmières, CEO of CityJet said: “Nuremberg is a key business hub in Europe given its position as the capital of Germany’s industrial heartland. It is the head office location for many of German’s multi-nationals and it plays host to several international trade fairs. Taking its business and leisure credentials together, it was a clear cut decision for CityJet to launch a new year-round service to Nuremberg, further extending our network into Germany, following the launch of Münster-Osnabrück in October of last year.”

LCY offers a unique rapid transit proposition – a short check in, door to lounge, and a shorter arrival, tarmac to train. 10 airlines fly out of LCY, serving 43 destinations and the airport has permission to increase its operation to 120,000 movements per annum.
