CAA research shows Liverpool John Lennon Airport passengers more likely to travel on time

Liverpool, UK, 2014-1-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Passengers choosing to travel via Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) are more likely to have their flights operate on time compared to flights operating from 10 other top UK airports, according to the latest research published by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Figures for the third quarter of 2013 covering the busy summer period from July to September, show that the overall on-time performance of scheduled flights (defined as the proportion of flights arriving or departing early or up to 15 minutes late) at 10 popular UK airports, was 80%.  At JLA however, some 91% of scheduled flights operated on time over this period, highlighting that flights operating from and to Liverpool are some of the most punctual in the UK.

These latest results are also backed up by easyJet, one of LJLA’s biggest operators. Last week, 97% of flights departed on time from Liverpool, the airline’s top performer out of their 22 base airport network across the UK and Europe.

Paul Staples, Airport Director for LJLA commented, “Our focus on key operational aspects of the business to give our airline customers the highest levels of service, continues to really pay dividends for our passengers too.

The region’s passengers can book with confidence, knowing that more flights operate on time from here than at many of our competitors.”
