(NEWS) AUCKLAND, Auckland, New Zealand, 2026-Aug-31 — /Travel PR News/ — Auckland Airport is consolidating more of its customer-facing digital services onto the web, with the Strata Club loyalty programme and Auckland Airport mobile app both scheduled to close at 23:59 on 30 November 2026.
The change gives existing members a three-month transition period rather than an immediate shutdown. According to the airport’s Strata Club closure guidance, customers can continue earning points, redeeming rewards and accessing eligible tier benefits until 30 September. From October, members will no longer earn new points or move between membership tiers, but they will still be able to use eligible existing points and benefits until 30 November.
Parking and flight information move to the website
The app currently combines practical airport information with Strata Club functions, including access to a digital membership card. Once the app is retired, Auckland Airport says core services such as parking bookings and flight information will remain available through its mobile-friendly website rather than through a separate application.
Scott Tasker, Auckland Airport’s chief customer officer, said the airport has spent the past year improving its website and making information easier to find on mobile devices. The decision to retire the app is intended to remove duplication by concentrating services in one digital channel.
For travelers who primarily use the app to book parking or check airport information, the practical change is therefore one of access point rather than service removal. Parking will continue to be bookable online, and the airport says customers will receive reminders and support during the transition.
Strata Club members have until November to use rewards
Strata Club currently rewards members for spending with participating airport retailers and restaurants as well as for services such as parking. The programme also has tier-based benefits and uses the Auckland Airport app as the main way to display a member’s digital Strata card and track balances.
Under the closure timetable, earning points and tier changes stop on 30 September. Members then have until 30 November to redeem remaining eligible points and benefits. Auckland Airport’s existing rewards information shows that points can currently be used toward airport parking, participating retail purchases and Strata Lounge bookings, subject to programme rules.
From 1 December, existing Strata Club login details will automatically transition to an AKL login. Auckland Airport says the replacement account will allow customers to manage and book parking using saved profile information and retain access to saved wish lists and order history associated with The Mall.
Strata Lounge remains open
The retirement of the rewards programme does not affect the similarly named Strata Lounge. Auckland Airport has specifically clarified that the international departures lounge will continue operating as normal.
The lounge is located after security in the international terminal and remains available to departing international passengers. Its continued operation is separate from the closure of Strata Club, even though members have historically been able to use programme benefits or points toward lounge visits.
Auckland Airport says customer support will remain available throughout the wind-down for questions about accounts, points and the digital transition. The overall shift marks a move away from maintaining both an app and a website for overlapping services, with the airport choosing the website as its main digital platform from December onward.
