Amadeus achieved the highest scores in the following categories: Economic and Social Dimension of its business, Compliance with Codes of Conduct, Environmental Policy/Management System, Labour Practice Indicators and Human Rights, and Talent Attraction and Retention.

“Amadeus’ ambitions within Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability are gradually and visibly to improve our contribution to society. We are doing this by engaging the resources that make Amadeus unique: our people and their talent, our technological capabilities and our expertise in the global travel industry, whilst working in partnerships that make a real difference. Being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is a clear indication that we are making substantial progress in this important area”, commented Svend Leirvaag, Vice President, Industry Affairs, Amadeus.

“Recognition of our status by such a credible organisation as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, with such a large and growing following of investors globally, is a very welcome reward for our commitment. We look forward to attracting new and like-minded long-term investors who share our socially conscious and sustainable business philosophy” commented Ana de Pro, Amadeus’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO). “In particular we are very satisfied to be confirmed as the leader in the worldwide Support Services sector. In business terms, this both justifies and re-enforces our existing strategy: a socially conscious business approach brings long-term rewards to investors, customers, suppliers and employees.”

Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes were launched jointly by Dow Jones Index, STOXX and Sustainable Asset Management (SAM) in 1999. DJSI was the first index that traces social responsibility performance of leading-edge enterprises, and is also one of the most credible evaluation tools for reviewing sustainability worldwide. Companies ranked on the DJSI are selected from the largest 2,500 companies by free-float market capitalisation around the world, with only 340 qualifying as global components. The index is comprised of companies across all industries in 58 sectors that outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics.
Currently around 6 billion USD are invested in DJSI-based investment vehicles, including mutual funds, separate accounts, and notes, as well as exchange traded funds (ETF), in 15 countries worldwide.

About Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes℠ are offered by Dow Jones Indexes in collaboration with SAM. Following a best-in-class approach, the indices measure the performance of the world’s sustainability leaders. Companies are selected for the indices based on a comprehensive assessment of long-term economic, environmental and social criteria that account for general as well as industry-specific sustainability trends. Only firms that lead their industries based on this assessment are included in the indices. The indexes are created and maintained according to a systematic methodology, allowing investors to appropriately benchmark sustainability-driven funds and derivatives over the long term.

The family includes global and regional broad market indices, subindexes excluding alcohol, gambling, tobacco, armaments and firearms and/or adult entertainment, and global and regional blue-chip indices.
