BERLIN, Germany, 2016-Oct-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Berlin’s trendy restaurants set for service at 10,000 metres High-quality food from trendy local restaurants – served above the clouds: airberlin and the Dutch start-up company, iFleat, are introducing this world first for flights. The new shared airgusto premium service allows passengers who have booked a long-haul flight from Berlin in Economy Class to pre-order their preferred meal from selected Berlin restaurants online. The high-class menus will be arranged on china ware and served on flights from Berlin to New York, Chicago, Miami, Abu Dhabi and Punta Cana. To order via iFleat.com or the free iFleat app, the booking number must be entered no later than twelve hours before departure.

The selected Berlin restaurants include Chupenga from Berlin Mitte, which is inspired by the Mexican street food markets of San Francisco, along with the classic Italian restaurant Mondo Pazzo from Charlottenburg. airberlin also offers hearty in-flight schnitzel from Mutzenbacher’s in Friedrichshain. The Superfood restaurant from Berlin Mitte combines culinary pleasure with healthy eating, and its organic dishes are prepared so as to retain as many nutrients and vitamins as possible. Umami from Prenzlauer Berg contributes its creative, traditional Far Eastern cuisine to the in-flight offering. The multi-course menus cost between 19 and 37 euros.

airberlin will also continue to offer a full-service concept on long-haul flights, serving its passengers up to two hot meals along with hot and cold drinks, depending on the duration of the flight. The fare also includes a selection of complimentary alcoholic drinks, such as beer, wine and champagne. A number of special menus are also available to pre-order as free alternatives to the standard in-flight meal. These include vegetarian or vegan menus, as well as gluten and lactose-free dishes, meals for diabetics, kosher and halal food and child menus for children over two.
