airberlin launches codeshare flights from Berlin to Moscow with S7 Airlines

Berlin, Germany, 2016-Mar-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Travellers can once again book flights to Moscow with airberlin. The Russian oneworld© partner S7 Airlines will initially operate five flights a week from 27 March 2016, and from May it will provide a daily connection between the Russian and German capitals. airberlin will offer these as codeshare flights under its own flight number.

“We’re delighted that our flight guests can once again book S7 flights from Berlin to Moscow with airberlin. The flights complement our existing codeshare agreement, under which we’ll be offering approximately 400 codeshare flights this summer with our long-time partner,” said Stephan Nagel, SVP Alliances and Cooperation at airberlin.

“We’ve had a partnership with airberlin for many years – both bilateral and under the umbrella of the oneworld global airline alliance. Our companies signed the current codeshare agreement in 2008. We will be happy to welcome airberlin passengers on S7 Airlines’ new flights – from Berlin and Dusseldorf to Moscow, as well as on 15 Russian domestic flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport,” said Igor Veretennikov, S7 Group Deputy CEO of Strategy.

The codeshare flights will take off from Berlin Tegel at 3.40pm and reach Moscow in the early evening at 7.25pm. The return flight will depart from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport at 1.05pm and land in Berlin at 2.50pm.

The new codeshare flights will be integrated into the agreement between airberlin and S7 Airlines, which allows airberlin to offer S7 flights from Moscow to Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf under AB flights numbers since 2008. In the summer flight schedule, S7 will gradually increase the number of flights between Moscow and Dusseldorf to a daily connection. Those travelling to Russia will also have the opportunity of booking a connecting S7 flight via Moscow to a total of 17 Russian destinations through airberlin, including St. Petersburg, Sochi, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Voronezh and Yekaterinburg.

The flights can be booked at airberlin.com, 24 hours a day or by phoning the Contact Centre on 0180 6 – 334 334 (German landline: €0.20 per call / German mobile network: max. €0.60 per call) or through a travel agent.
