AGS Airports Ltd, owner of Aberdeen and Glasgow Airports, comments on Scottish Government’s private testing announcement

Aberdeen, UK, 2021-Sep-01 — /Travel PR News/ — In response to Friday afternoon’s announcement from the Scottish Government that passengers arriving or returning to Scotland from green or amber list countries will soon be able to use private sector testing facilities, a spokesman for AGS Airports Ltd, which owns Aberdeen and Glasgow Airports, said:

“Whilst welcome, Friday’s decision should have been made months ago and only brings Scotland into line with the rest of the UK, which is already lagging well behind competing European markets in terms of recovery.

“The Scottish Government needs to start planning now for the meaningful recovery of international travel and the vital connectivity it delivers for the country. We see no reason why testing cannot by scrapped for fully-vaccinated travellers into Scotland, and for those arriving from low-risk countries as is the case across the rest of Europe.”

The Scottish Government has confirmed the implementation date will be early September. For further information click here.
