Eurovision Song Contest Asia is turning its first Grand Final into a regional travel campaign, appointing Agoda to help convert viewers of the new competition into visitors to Bangkok this November.

Singapore-headquartered digital travel platform Agoda has been named Official Travel Partner of the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia. The contest culminates in Thailand’s capital on Saturday 14 November 2026 after a series of national selection programmes and artist announcements across participating Asian markets.

The partnership places a travel-booking brand inside both the broadcast journey and the on-site fan experience. Agoda is expected to appear through presenter mentions, “presented by Agoda” editorial content and dedicated promotional segments during national events and the Bangkok final.

From television partnership to fan travel

Outside the broadcasts, Agoda plans a regional social-media collaboration involving influencers from multiple markets. The company also intends to create an immersive hospitality venue during the Grand Final, giving invited fans and partners another point of contact with the event in Bangkok.

Special Eurovision-themed travel deals are due to be offered through Agoda’s website and app. No prices, booking window, destination combinations or detailed terms had been published with the partnership announcement, leaving travellers to wait for the commercial offer before judging its value.

That distinction matters because the appointment is currently a marketing and distribution partnership rather than a complete travel package. Fans planning to attend will still need confirmed information on tickets, accommodation availability, transport and any conditions attached to Agoda’s eventual promotion.

Omri Morgenshtern, chief executive officer of Agoda, said, “Both music and travel connect people.” He described Eurovision’s arrival in Asia as a chance for the company to help fans experience the competition in person and make travel to Bangkok’s Grand Final more accessible.

Bangkok anchors a regional selection calendar

The Asian competition extends a format first developed by the European Broadcasting Union in 1956. Participating broadcasters select or appoint national representatives before the entries meet in a live international final.

The first Asian edition brings together the European Broadcasting Union, licensee and production company Voxovation, S2O Productions and host broadcaster Thailand’s Channel 3. Ten countries were included in the initial line-up: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Vietnam, with the organisers leaving scope for further additions.

The competition was already moving from announcement to performance by the time Agoda’s partnership was unveiled. Bhutan selected Nyendra with “Lhayi Semo”, Malaysia confirmed Aina Abdul as its representative, and the Philippines chose CARMELLE and the song “Sobra-Sobra” on 30 August.

Further selection programmes are scheduled through September and October, including Korea’s Next Wave, Nepal Decides, Laos’s two-night Sieng Lao: The One, Thailand’s Chosen One, Voice of Bangladesh and The Sound of Vietnam. The official calendar also lists a Mongolian selection event for 10 October while noting that more dates and participating broadcasters may follow.

A contest designed for viewers beyond participating markets

National selection shows and the Grand Final are due to stream through the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel as well as participating broadcasters. A Rest of the World vote is being incorporated into each selection programme, allowing viewers outside the choosing country to help decide which songs advance to Bangkok.

This digital access broadens the potential audience for Agoda’s campaign beyond residents of the ten initially announced markets. It also gives the travel platform a longer promotional runway than a single-night sponsorship, beginning with national selections and continuing through the final.

The inaugural competition is particularly relevant to Agoda’s regional identity. The company is headquartered in Singapore and maintains a major operating centre in Bangkok, the host city for the Grand Final. Agoda says its platform provides access to more than six million hotels and holiday properties alongside flights, activities and other travel services in 39 languages.

Agoda is part of Booking Holdings and reports a global workforce exceeding 7,500. Voxovation, founded in 2018, holds an exclusive licence from the European Broadcasting Union to develop Eurovision Song Contest formats in new international markets.

Travel demand will depend on the details

For Bangkok, the contest has the ingredients of a short, concentrated event-travel surge: national fan communities, a fixed final date, live broadcasting and a calendar that builds attention over several months. Agoda’s role gives the organisers a direct route from promotional content to accommodation and flight searches.

The strength of that conversion will depend on information still to come. Themed deals need transparent dates and conditions, while travelling fans will require ticketing guidance and enough notice to compare transport and accommodation rather than treating the official partner label as an automatic assurance of the lowest price.

What is already clear is that Eurovision’s first Asian edition is being built as more than a television final. By integrating selections, voting, streaming, hospitality and travel marketing, the organisers and Agoda are positioning the journey to Bangkok as part of the contest itself.
