2012-09-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sol Airlines S.A. that will allow each company comlement its routes and flight time tables with the obective of offering a better product and oprimum conectivity for the passenger.

This way Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral will operate main routs with or without stops and Sol will operate the so called cross routes or complimentary routs and short haul flights reducing traffic.

This agreement is consistent with what is defined in the “2010-2014 Negotiating Plan” previously presented by Aerolineas Authorities to the Nations Congress, which considering the Alliance Plan establishes that to reach its network goals, Aerolineas and Austral must participate in a higher level of integration with other airlines, both private and public.

The memorandum establishes that independantely whether the points that Sol operates to on their network, it will act as a feeder to the main ARSA/AUSA and these, in turn, will promote and sell destinations to points beyond their main routes, thus, establishing by mutual agreement complementing each other.

The agreement which was signed by the president of Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral, Mariano Recalde and Head of Sol S.A. Airlines, Horacio Angeli also undertake that the companies explore opportunities for code-sharing, frequent flyer programme, cooperation in sales and product development, and synergies in cargo and maintenance operations.
