Visit the Chalet Suisse and discover “a piece of Switzerland” at Zurich Airport

2013-06-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — A variety of popular Swiss dishes such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (strips of veal in a creamy sauce) or mincemeat with maccaroni is now available at the new Swiss restaurant at Zurich Airport’s Airside Center.

How about a hearty Swiss meal before your trip abroad? Dishes that the Swiss miss abroad and that visitors to Switzerland like to try include mincemeat with maccaroni, Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, house-made rösti, Cordon bleu, regional sausage and cheese specialities and Birchermüsli. Delicious fruit tarts, quiches and rolls are baked daily in the restaurant’s own stone oven. A special weekly menu ensures variety. A range of light meals accompanied by select Swiss wines is served in the evening.

The ambiance is both cosmopolitan and traditional, just like Switzerland. The guest area, which seats 100, is framed by a wall reminiscent of a rocky mountain face. There is also a bistro and a stand-up café.

Autogrill, Zurich Airport’s long-standing partner, is responsible for the sophisticated culinary offering and quality at the Chalet Suisse where guests can enjoy good Swiss cuisine – prepared fresh every day – at modest prices.
