Vancouver Airport Authority unveiles the new yvr.ca website for Vancouver International Airport

The new accessibility compliant site is also available in English, French and Chinese

Richmond, B.C., 2016-Apr-04 — /Travel PR News/ — We’ve upgraded our terminals, we’ve improved our airfield, we’ve added new airlines, and now it’s time we bring our website into the digital age. Today, Vancouver Airport Authority unveiled the new yvr.ca website for Vancouver International Airport. The new site is now mobile-optimized, accessibility compliant and available in English, French and Chinese.

“The launch of this website brings new and efficient ways to better serve customers including easy navigation and features that allow for fast and simple travel solutions,” said Anne Murray, Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Vancouver Airport Authority. “We created a website that reflects the award-winning level of care, sense of place and innovation found in our terminals.” The website received an updated look and feel to reflect YVR’s sense of place using bold photography and simple infographics. New user-friendly features include:

  • Ability for users to search real-time flight information and receive notification on flight-status changes,
  • Enhanced and more user-friendly passenger guides that identify one’s journey through the airport,
  • Option to discover shops, services and facilities including real-time information about hours of operation, locations and any applicable promotions or redeemable coupons,
  • A parking booking system and interactive terminal map,
  • And embedded customer care and social media functions

Future releases of the website are expected to include personalization features that will offer users the ability to save restaurant preferences and find stores to match their needs, or review their trip history.

The growing demands of the competitive aviation industry also required an innovative new website to ensure we attract the necessary business to reach our goal of 25 million passengers by 2020 and to remain the preferred connecting airport between Asia and the Americas. We’ve expanded our Business and About Us sections to include more information about our programs, sustainability measures, master planning, careers and how to do business with YVR.

“The website is an important business tool for the company. It is our anchor in the online community and drives our business goals and connects our products to revenue generating solutions,” said Murray. “This new site offers an enhanced travel experience at YVR and helps drive our business objectives by offering a more robust platform and powerful tool for marketing initiatives.”

The website was developed by Vancouver-based Habanero Consulting and is designed to be an industry-leading site with capability for significant future growth.

You can do it all at yvr.ca—whether it’s viewing our award winning art collection, browsing for your favourite luxury item, planning a day at the airport, or learning about our wildlife programs. Our new website goes beyond just trip planning, and provides and exceptional experience for our customers with just one click. Visit the new site at www.yvr.ca.
