Thrills for all seasons and thrills for all ages at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor through out 2014

2013-08-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — It is going to be thrills for all seasons and thrills for all ages at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor in 2014.

The spring season launches with an exciting twist on two of the Valencia theme park’s beloved coasters. For a limited time, the popular suspended coaster, BATMAN The Ride and the celebrated wooden coaster, Colossus, will run BACKWARDS. In late spring, aspiring thrill seekers and their families will be treated to a revitalized children’s area, Bugs Bunny World, anchored by the launch of a new pint-sized coaster. The new coaster addition brings the total number of coasters in the children’s area to four, more than any other U.S. theme park. A new show in the area’s Carrot Club Theater will debut as well.

Summertime water park fun is also on tap in 2014 as Six Flags Hurricane Harbor introduces two impressive new thrill slides, Bonzai Pipelines, two body slides that sit side-by-side and offer a unique launching capsule system. After reaching the top of the five-story tower, guests step into the enclosed vertical capsule where the floor drops out beneath them, sending riders free-falling 40 miles-per-hour down the slide. Launch programming may be varied so that all riders launch at the same moment, or in sequence.

To round out the water park experience, Dive-In Movies will be offered in the Forgotten Sea wave pool, new dining options are planned, as well as extended operating hours.

To keep the thrills coming in the fall, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s annual Fright Fest celebration will undergo one of the largest expansions in the park’s history with new mazes and more scare zones, as well as added days and extended hours.

“We are excited to be able to offer such an array of new experiences for our Guests throughout the 2014 season,” said Bonnie Rabjohn, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor park president. “And we are staying true to our thrill promise by adding yet another coaster to our collection – this time a fun adventure for our littlest thrill seekers. No doubt we will be creating lots of magical memories at the ‘Thrill Capital of the World’ next year.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2014, one of the park’s top thrill coasters, BATMAN the Ride, will be more intense than ever when riders dare to take on an all new experience – going backwards!  As the coaster climbs the 105-foot lift, riders will take in the full scope of the track as they anticipate the adventure that lies ahead. The train will reach speeds of 50 mph and travel through 2,700 feet of track, all while maneuvering hairpin turns, two vertical loops and a heartline spin with a zero-gravity force … all while going backwards! The excitement is magnified since guests cannot see the twists and turns that await them.

Trains on the iconic “woodie” Colossus, will hit the track in reverse as well. Covering 10 acres of land, with tracks measuring nearly a mile long at 4,325 feet, this classic wooden coaster features drops of more than 100 feet and a total of 14 hills including a climactic triple jump toward the end … backwards!  Colossus celebrated its 35th anniversary in June, 2013.

In addition to the summer 2014 makeover of Bugs Bunny World, a thrilling new family coaster will be added to the six-acre, interactive wonderland. Joining 12 other rides and attractions, from mini coasters to pint-sized trucks and trains, the new coaster will feature an action packed adventure with plenty of drops and thrills which kids and parents can ride together. Along with the new, record breaking fourth pint-sized coaster, a new family-friendly show will debut in the Carrot Club Theater.

With the addition of the new pint-sized coaster in 2014, the “Thrill Capital of the World” will boast 19 roller coasters, including the new Full Throttle, which debuted in June 2013 as the world’s tallest and fastest looping coaster; X2, the world’s first 5th dimensional coaster; Tatsu, the world’s tallest and fastest flying coaster; Goliath, the giant among giants; Viper and more.
