The CAA Proposes to Replace Class F Advisory Routes in the London and Scottish Flight Information Regions

2013-06-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released additional information in support of its proposals to replace Class F Advisory Routes in the London and Scottish Flight Information Regions. The consultation with the aviation community was launched on 8 April 2013.

The CAA proposes to replace Class F Advisory Routes with Class E airways, enhanced by additional conspicuity requirements. This reflects the conclusions of a joint CAA/industry working group established after the 2009 ICAO Safety Audit to identify and consider how the Audit’s recommendations could be acted upon.

Full details of the proposals and how to participate in the consultation can be found on the CAA website at www.caa.co.uk/consultations. In recognition of industry’s need to consider the additional material, the consultation period has been extended and will now end on Friday 26 July 2013.

In order to allow sufficient time for airspace users, aircraft operators and air traffic service providers to prepare for the eventual changes, the CAA will announce its final proposals as soon as possible. The replacement of Class F will be completed no later than AIRAC 12/2014 (13 November 2014).
