Shannon Airport: United Airlines re-introduced its seasonal nonstop service between Shannon and O’Hare International Airport

Shannon, Ireland, 2014-5-27 — /Travel PR News/ — United Airlines today re-introduced its seasonal nonstop service between Shannon and its Chicago hub, O’Hare International Airport. The summer service will operate during the period May 23 to Sept. 15, 2014, a longer period than last year. The frequency of the service is five flights weekly during the periods May 23 to Jun. 16 and Aug. 19 to Sep. 1, daily between Jun. 17 and Aug. 18, and four flights weekly between Sept. 2 and Sept. 15 (all dates westbound).

“We’re delighted to re-introduce and extend our summer service between Shannon and Chicago in response to the great customer support we received last year,” said Yvonne Muldoon, United’s Sales Manager Ireland. “We are pleased to offer more flexibility and choice for our Irish customers, not only to Chicago, but to over 300 destinations across the Americas.”

The flights are operated by Boeing 757-200 aircraft with a total of 169 seats – 16 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst and 153 in United Economy, including 45 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.

The Shannon-Chicago flight, UA67, departs Shannon at 11:00 a.m., arriving in Chicago at 1:15 p.m. the same day. The return flight, UA66, departs Chicago at 6:25 p.m., arriving in Shannon at 7:35 a.m. the following day (all times local).

In welcoming the return of this service to Chicago, Declan Power, Head of Aviation Development at Shannon Airport said: “The increase of 90 additional flights to and from Chicago this year is a great testament to the success of the route which was launched last year. We are delighted with the continued commitment of United Airlines to growing its services at Shannon and we know that the Chicago route will again be a major contributor to the growing number of U.S. visitors to Ireland.
