SFO CIO Ian Law received the Most Innovative Individual in Airports Award at the 2nd Annual Airport Innovation Forum

Alexandria, VA, 2016-Oct-24 — /Travel PR News/ — The Airport Innovation Accelerator announced that Ian Law, Chief Information Officer at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), has won the Most Innovative Individual in Airports Award. He received the award in a ceremony at the 2nd Annual Airport Innovation Forum in Silicon Valley, held Oct. 11-13. The Airport Innovation Accelerator was established by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) as an innovation hub to bring together airports and key stakeholders to build airports of the future.

“Innovation would be just another buzzword if it weren’t for dedicated people like Ian Law who work tirelessly to improve airports through creative thinking and seamless implementation of their ideas,” AAAE President and CEO Todd Hauptli said. “The work that Ian and his team have done to keep SFO ahead of the innovation curve is exceptional, and AAAE and the Airport Innovation Accelerator are pleased to recognize and celebrate his work.”

Law was instrumental in SFO’s unique automated solution to track the operations of ride-sharing companies at SFO that is a model for other airports around the country. He also developed and deployed a solution across multiple counties that provides equality among the short-route taxi processes at airports.

Law received multiple nominations for the award, demonstrating a unique ability to drive meaningful change for his airport and the industry overall. He was also recognized in the 2016 CIO 100 for his work on the ride-share solution for airports. In 2015, thanks in many respects to Law’s leadership, SFO received the Best of California Awards for Public-Sector Technology Innovation in the Best In-House Developed Application category.

The Most Innovative Individual in Airports Award was established by the Airport Innovation Accelerator to honor individuals playing an important role in innovative developments that improve their airport and the entire industry.
