Ryanair Supports Spanish Foundation “Pequeño Deseo”

2013-05-22 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (22 May) announced a €25,000 donation to the Spanish Foundation “Pequeño Deseo” (“Small Wishes”), the latest in a line of charities to receive ongoing contributions from the sale of Ryanair’s ‘Fly To Win’ onboard scratchcards.

Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary and several members of Ryanair’s cabin crew were on hand at Ryanair’s Madrid base to present the donation to Cristina Cuadrado, Director of Fundación Pequeño Deseo, which aims to make the dreams of children living with life-threatening medical conditions come true.

Ryanair’s scratchcards are extremely popular with passengers who are in with a chance to win prizes ranging from cash, to a brand new luxury car, as well as the opportunity to scoop a cool €1 million – all for a stake of just €2, with ongoing donations made to various charities across Europe, including the Jack & Jill Foundation and The Marie Keating Foundation in Ireland, The Meyer Children’s Hospital and L’Aquila Playgrounds in Italy and now Fundación Pequeño Deseo in Spain.

Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:

“Ryanair is delighted to support the Spanish Foundation Pequeño Deseo, which helps grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening conditions, and creates happy memories. The Foundation is one of many charities across Europe to receive ongoing donations from our ‘Fly To Win’ scratchcards, where passengers not only have the chance to win some fantastic prizes by playing, but can also help out many great causes.”

Fundacion Pequeño Deseo Spain, Director Cristina Cuadrado said:

“We are delighted with the donation as it will help us grant even more wishes and make even more dreams come through, bringing Spanish children living with long-term illnesses joy and strength to continue fighting.  With the support of wonderful fundraisers, volunteers and supporters – such as Ryanair – we can continue to provide this wonderful service to children.”
