Norwegian to further expand in Edinburgh Airport in 2017; starts recruitment of new crew and pilots

Bærum, Norway, 2017-Jan-04 — /Travel PR News/ — Low-cost airline Norwegian has announced it will be creating more than 130 crew and pilot jobs in Scotland as it prepares for continued growth at Edinburgh Airport in 2017.

Norwegian began flying from Edinburgh in 2009 and has now flown over 1.1 million passengers with services to six European destinations. With a range of new aircraft being delivered in 2017, including the brand new Boeing 737 MAX, Norwegian is planning further new routes from Edinburgh.

The new routes include plans for low-cost transatlantic flights from Edinburgh to the US east coast which are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Along with offering affordable transatlantic travel to Scottish passengers, the new routes are also expected to generate increased inbound traffic from the US to Edinburgh, helping support tourism, business and hospitality opportunities in Scotland.

As part of Norwegian’s growth ambitions at Edinburgh Airport, Europe’s third-largest low cost airline has now started the recruitment of a series of new crew and pilots including:

  • Over 100 cabin crew opportunities – Norwegian is looking for candidates with friendly and outgoing personalities to join the airline’s cabin crew operating from Edinburgh Airport.
