Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai’s talented Sommelier Tansy Zhao (Zhao Huaiqiang) won the first place in the China National Sommelier Competition

Hong Kong, 2014-9-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai’s talented Sommelier, Tansy Zhao ( Zhao Huaiqiang)  has won first place in the China National Sommelier Competition, and will represent China at the 2015 World Youth Sommelier Competition.

“This is truly an important milestone for me,” said Tansy after receiving the recognition. “I look forward to welcoming guests to Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai and offering advice on the best way to enjoy wine.”

Candidates from China’s six regions participated in the preliminary contest, which is the only professional competition in China.  The China National Sommelier Competition aims to improve Chinese Sommeliers professional knowledge, service and their roles.

A new extensive master wine list is available at Fifty 8° Grill, Yong Yi Ting, and Qi Bar, showcasing more than 250 labels with an emphasis on wines from France, Italy, Australia, Germany, USA and China.
